American Idol's Season 11 Premiere

An article about American Idol's season premiere.

Tonight is the eventh season debut for the mega talent search television show, "American Idol." It is hard to believe that it has been 11 seasons since Kelly Clarkson stole America's heart, and the small town girl from Texas became a world-wide pop star sensation. Another season of great talent, high drama, and equally high anticipation ready to take your heart, and keep it in place.

Back in 2002, the talent pool was just as large, but the concept was still somewhat unheard of back then. Fast forward eleven years later, and "American Idol" means huge business in the world of music. Gone from the judges panel, are Simon Cowell and former pop diva, Paula Abdul. They have moved on to another Fox giant talent show, "The X-Factor." Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest are still fixtures of the "American Idol" crew. Pop icon, Jennifer Lopez and Areosmith front man, Steven Tyler are now Idol icons in their own right.

Steven Tyler is a very colorful judge that is a fun, often offbeat judge earning his reputation as slightly inappropriate when he thinks the young girls are attractive.

Jennifer Lopez provides often gentle coaching and her killer wardrobe. Randy Jackson is like the best friend viewers have come to rely on, and love. Ryan Seacrest's primary role of the show, is to guide the viewers on this television journey. He also seems to help people to combat their nerves, or he is their comforter when they fail.

The show tonight, spent the majority of the time in Savannah, Georgia.  Every season, there are stories that make me want to shed a tear or two, and this season's premiere was no different complete with a talented girl who fell on hard times, and is living in a tent. Who knows if this season's winner will be a huge star, like Carrie Underwood, or just a star for the season or the moment. Southern hospitality is rolled out for the show, as they continue to look for even the smallest twinkling light.

Tonight, offers the viewers the chance to see really inspiring stories, and wonderful singing auditions. On the other side of the coin, there are really bad and cringe-worthy auditions that might make you feel better about your own lack of musical talent.

So, people get ready for the television journey that will ultimately entertain you and touch your heart, and will make you laugh often at the same time.

I like the show but I haven't got to see it since I moved into my apartment in August. Excellent review.

A well written review, but I must confess that this isn't a show that I ever watch. It is a good show but it's simply not my type of entertainment.
